I started the work on the spars tonight. After a few tests on some scrap aluminim, I started to countersink my first hole. I tested the settings on several holes. When I went to the spar, the first rivet hole I countersunk went too deep. Not happy. Went back to the test pieces to see what happend.
Got it sorted and all of the other rivet holes for the fuel attach nutplates are completed perfectly. Got both the upper and bottom flanges of both spars done.
I opened up the plans tonight and observed the inserts to update the plans manual. For some reason, after a lot of confusion with new part numbers and different DWG numbers, I realized the inserts were for a RV-9???
Oh well, I'll get at priming then counter sinking for the #8 and #6 holes for the inspection panels tomorrow some time.
